The Best Apartment Holidays In Puerto Del Carmen
Written by MichaelZ on August 22, 2010 – 2:10 am -The popular resort of Puerto del Carmen nestles into the eastern coastline of Lanzarote and has some of the best weather to be found anywhere on the Canarian island. The town is protected from the prevailing winds that blow off the Atlantic by a range of volcanoes at its back.
As a result the fine sandy beaches that line its seven kilometres of coastline make it an ideal place for swimming, sunbathing and snorkelling. Whilst recent changes to the seafront promenade have shifted the emphasis to pedestrian enjoyment, with wide pavements and shady spots.
Over the last forty years, the town has developed from its humble beginnings as a small fishing village to become the resort it is today. So it is now home to some of the best self-catering Lanzarote accommodation to be found on the island. For travellers there are a number of independent websites featuring a whole host of apartments in Lanzarote so finding a place to stay should be a doddle.
All of the apartment complexes fit a similar blueprint of low rise buildings, with lush tropical planting surrounding them. This style of development helps to give the town its unspoiled and relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect backdrop for holidays. The quiet residential streets of the resort are also home to an excellent selection of Lanzarote holiday villas. Most enjoy extremely private surroundings, whilst many have additional features or personalised facilities that make them a home from home for guests.
Aside from the wide choice of Lanzarote accommodation, Puerto del Carmen is well provided with restaurants, with nearly every national cuisine represented, from Italian to Japanese. A good number of these establishments offer local specialties, with particular emphasis on seafood, especially in the old harbour area.
Nightlife, on the other hand, tends to be focused around the central area of the new town, where a good selection of clubs and bars can be found. Many of the busier clubs don’t open until the early hours of the morning, as is typical in most Spanish resorts.

Written by MichaelZ on January 26, 2010 – 12:21 am -Planning a holiday in Lanzarote during 2010? The fourth largest of the Canary Islands offers a host of great beaches and wonderful weather all year round. As well as a whole raft of colourful fiestas and festivals.
There are plenty of places to stay. With lots of good quality hotels and holiday villas in Lanzarote available for rent in the three main resorts of Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise – as well as across the unique volcanic countryside.
Lanzarote car hire is very inexpensive too, making it easy to get out and about and take pleasure in colourful events taking place.
2010 gets off with bang as the island plays host to the 26th annual Festival de Musica Canarias. A showcase of cotemporary classical music staged across all of the seven islands in the archipelago. Lanzarote hosts five concerts during the first month of the year – including performances by Sphera Antigua and the Prague National Chamber Theatre Orchestra.
Carnaval kicks off across the island in February. And whilst the celebrations are not quite as riotous as in Rio they still attract thousands of revellers. With many holidaymakers planning their holidays in Lanzarote around this colourful event, which pretty much brings work across the island to halt for a couple of weeks every year.
Whilst not quite in the same league as Rio the most riotous Carnaval processions and celebrations can be found in the island capital of Arrecife and the largest resort of Puerto del Carmen. Featuring imaginatively decorated floats, marching drum bands and plenty of late night partying.
During May Lanzarote becomes the venue for one of the toughest triathlons in the world. As the annual Iron Man contest returns. Featuring over a thousand competitors who are all battling it out for the top prize of a slot in the grand final in Hawaii. Over a course that includes a 2km swim, 180km bike ride and a full marathon. Which is staged along the Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen.
Corpus Christi is one of the most colourful festivals on Lanzarote. And is celebrated by the creation of unique carpets of coloured salt. Each municipality has a team of participants with their own specific designs and the best displays can be viewed in the capital of Arrecife and the historic town of Teguise.

You Will Need Insurance For Your Vacation Home
Written by MichaelZ on December 5, 2009 – 9:31 pm -Everyone knows that insurance at home is important so why should it not happen when it comes to the home you own abroad?
holiday homes insurance is very important just so you can protect yourself and is even more important when it comes to renting out the property which is something you really should do because it can earn you a lot of money.
What happens if you have a guest who is a bit clumsey and leaves something on the cooker and then of course it catches on fire. The fire will then of course carry on burning until it gets out of hand and could go on to destory all of your investment as well as the home itself. Think about it, are the guests going to be able to afford to pay for all of the damages if something does happen? Is there anyway you could afford to pay for all of this damage? It is not very likely, unless of course you arte rich enough to own your own island like Richard Branson.
If something does happen then holiday home insurance can jump in to save the day. It can actually be very useful to you as it will protect you when you are out there as well as any guest that may happen to want to rent the place. Another thing is you can get this insurance for an individual country which potentially save you a bit of money, home insurance Spain is really just one of the options out there for you to look in to.
Insurance is not there to cost you extra money although this is of course how companies make their cash. It is there to save you in the lonmg run if something happens in the future. It can also help you if you leave a hazard out that a guests injures themselves on.
it is worth looking into it now and getting second homes insurance.
