Passport Requirements You Should Know Before Traveling
Written by MichaelZ on May 30, 2011 – 10:59 pm -Before traveling, you must know the regulations of the country you’re visiting and airlines you’re flying with to ensure your entrance and departure of your destination. This includes a valid passport, but each country has its own rules on what a valid passport entails. Refer to the following guidelines for a seemless travel experience:
Passport Requirements for Flying
As stated before, take note of your destination’s laws before traveling. Give yourself ample time if you need to renew your passport. If you’re traveling internationally, there’s no question that you’ll need a passport for travel to present when checking in for flights, boarding planes and when passing through security checks. Everyone, including minors and infants need a valid passport when traveling internationally.
If traveling within the country, U.S. citizens and permanent residents don’t need a U.S. passport, but if you so choose, you can use your passport as a valid form of identification through security checkpoints and checking in for your flight.
Whether you’re using your passport as a form of I.D. or using it to fly abroad, it must be in good condition to be considered valid. There cannot be excess wear and tear; there must be plenty of passport pages for entry stamps; your photo must be clear; and your information must be filled out legibly and clearly.
Passport Expiration
Every country has different regulations when it comes to passport expiration requirements and validity. Some have strict six-month rules, others have three-month validity rules, and others only require that your passport is valid while you’re in their country. The following list should aid you in your travels:
- Six-month validity rule: If your passport expires within six months of your arrival date, you’ll be turned away at immigration for these countries: Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Ecuador, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Paraguay, Tunisia, Romania, Singapore and Belgium.
- Three-month validity rule: These countries enforce that your passport must not expire for at least three months after your arrival date: Cambodia, Denmark, Fiji, Switzerland, South Africa, New Zealand, Croatia and Estonia.
- Valid for duration of travel: In these countries, as long as your passport doesn’t expire until after you leave, your passport is considered valid: United States, Malta, Kenya, France, Tanzania, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and the United Kingdom.
Other Passport Requirements for U.S. Citizens
United States citizens only need a valid driver’s license or non-expired passport to enter Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas and any U.S. overseas territory.
Check with the local embassy of the country you’re traveling to for the latest passport requirements before you travel.
It generally takes about six weeks for the U.S. Department of State to process your passport application, so for faster service, it is suggested that you use a private passport expediting company like EasyPassportOnline that will process your passport in as little as 24 hours.

These are called World Heritage Sites and we would like to share some of these sites that can be found in Australia.
The fame of the Great Barrier Reef certainly got the attention of the UNESCO and for good reason as the natural significance is quite pronounced. This formation of multiple coral reefs stretches across approximately 133,000 square miles and is so large that it can be seen from space. Another World Heritage Site found in Australia is the Gondwana Rainforest. Considered to be a window into the world’s primordial history, visitors and scientists alike flock to this area. There was a time in history when the land masses of the earth were contained in only two bodies and Gondwana, Australia was included in the southern portion of one of the two land masses. Some of the same animal and plant species that existed in the Gondwana of ancient times are in existence today in the rainforests of Australia.
The Royal Exhibition Building, located in Melbourne, Australia is another site, though this one isn’t nature-based, but for history. Originally completed in the year 1880, it held the first Australian Parliament in 1901. With so much history located in its grand halls, this is a great site for you and your family to visit.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is one of Australia’s most recognizable features. Also known as Ayer’s Rock, this geological formation is a giant sandstone structure that stands 348 meters high.
