Maldives Holidays

The Maldives is made up of a series of atolls, each containing hundreds of islands. It has an interesting claim to fame, as it is the country with the world’s lowest high point, just 2.3m over sea level. This destination never used to be all that popular, but it has started to become very popular with tourists from all over the world.

This is one of the best possible places in the world to enjoy a decent diving holiday, in fact best for visibility too. Some of the islands boast hotels with their own reefs, which provide protected swimming for their guests. You can jet ski, windsurf and water ski if you feel the need to take time off from just relaxing and unwinding from the stresses of everyday life. This is a particular favourite among those snapping up late holiday deals.

Another popular type of Maldives holidays is sailing and there are numerous cruises and trips around the various atolls. If you enjoy sailing and diving you will want to make use of the live aboard boats that are also to be found on some Caribbean holidays. These “Safari Boats” will do their best to take you over to all of the best diving sites in the Maldives.

Male is the only city in the Maldives, and coincidentally also the capital, it is also the only airport in the Maldives. This is the only place in the Maldives to land for an International flight, then you carry on to other locations in either sea planes or by boat. Male is the best place to find nightlife, but bear in mind that the Maldives is a Muslim country and there are certain conventions that must be observed.

Between December and April is the best possible time for you to take a holiday in the Maldives. Monsoons can be expected at least twice a year in heavy form, it is after all the Indian Ocean.

Pro’s and Con’s of holidays to Sri Lanka!

Written by MichaelZ on March 9, 2010 – 12:53 pm -

This is the holiday i have chosen for several reasons. This is going to be one of the biggest holidays of the year according to several tour operators. However, I do believe that some of those that go there do not really know what they are walking into. This is where I thought i might be able to help by sharing a small amount of knowledge with everyone!

So we will start off with those all important Pros, what are the good points to going on holiday in Sri Lanka? You have gotta love how cheap it is. Getting there may cost a fair bit of money but once you are there, spending won’t really be happening all that much. The hotels here are an absolute wonder, so once your in your sorted. You will be treated like a king, great room service at all hotels, and at most you will have great day spa facilities. There is also a lovely chance for you to indulge in a safari, the majority of the time people like to explore this country, and this activity allows you to do this. If you want to try and experience a great time of adventure then this is great for you, safaris are available all year round in the jungles and rain forests of Sri lanka. Sri Lanka offers a great experience of fun and excitation for anyone who visits.

This isn’t a holiday without any down falls, there are a few things that you may want to know about it. You have to be wary of what time of the year you travel out to Sri Lanka, the Rainy season takes place from October to January. The rain is truly immense. However some down’t mind the rain, the only problem is that this isn’t the nly annoying thing about Sri Lanka. Unfortunately the country is in a civil war (which is supposed to have ended) but things are still a little tense. Just make sure that you don’t enter the forests without a guide or a tour, it is important to make sure someone is with you at all times. Then there is the injections that you need to prevent yourself from obtaining any nasty illnesses, now this is the worst for me!

Sri Lanka holidays have become very popular, but if you want something more relaxing and less dangerous, you should try Maldives holidays or Caribbean holidays!

Where do the celebrities go for holiday?

Written by MichaelZ on January 1, 2010 – 1:59 pm -

Have you had that dream where you live like a celebrity for a few days, well these holidays could help you to achieve this for a small amount of time! Celebrities do enjoy a good old holiday, and there are many places all across the world that they enjoy to visit. I am here to divulge some information on where some celebrities may go when they embark on a holiday!

So where are these places, where can we find a celebrity? The Caribbean is a great place for us to first start looking, especially in St Lucia! St Lucia is known as the luxury island. This is not for the clubbing or partying celebrity, this is for those that enjoy a spa or massage. Interestingly enough, one good example of a celebrity that visited recently is Amy Winehouse. The best thing about this is that she stayed in St Lucia for a while, and was happy for people to come up to her and chat. She interacted with the locals and tourists, which was a fun experience for all.

Once again we stay in the Caribbean, and this time we are off to Barbados. Barbados is a favourite holiday location of one of the princes of the British sovereignty, Prince Harry quite enjoys a vacation here. Barbados is visited by many celebrities because of it’s lively nightlife and sunny surroundings. This party island “Barbados” gives everybody the chance to go out on the St Lawrence mile strip, for as long as you want!

The next location is probably the most expensive and the highest in quality. This also seems to be the Honeymoon locations for the stars as well. People like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes headed here for two weeks after they got married, and Beyonce and Jay Z came here for their honeymoon. Going for a nice walk along the beach and taking a trip to the spa hotel, this is what these holidays are for.

Which of these holidays best suits you, and who would you like to meet, would you fancy Maldives holidays with the stars or St Lucia holidays, maybe even Barbados holidays are more for you!
