A Tale Of Two Haunted Cities With London And Paris Hotels

Written by MichaelZ on December 20, 2011 – 12:46 pm -

Ghost walks in central London provide visitors with an ideal opportunity to see the capital at ground level. Tours cross paths with many of the famous London hotels, meaning you won’t have to travel far to join in the fun.

The city can be seen in great detail by going on one of these macabre journeys. The matinee hours also provide tours so you’ll still be able to take part in them even if you have young children or plans for the evening. During the evening tours though, a greater sense of the paranormal is garnered as London’s historical buildings take on new characteristics.

With so many tours, it can be difficult to find one which will suit you. ‘Ghosts of the Old City’ is a tour interested in phantoms and erstwhile spirits. Visitors will negotiate dark alleyways and navigate the backstreets with an eccentric tour guide known as ‘the shadow walker’.

One of the premier tours starts in Tower Hill and takes visitors into the dark world of Victorian London. A serial killer known as Jack the Ripper came to prominence in the late nineteen hundreds and put the city on the map for all the wrong reasons. The possible identity of the world’s most famous serial killer is examined in this walk.

The city of lights cannot illuminate the darkness that reigns in certain parts of Paris. Romantic hotels and restaurants co-exist among locations formally used for torture and cannibalism. Rue de Lombard is the meeting point for a popular walk in close proximity to a wealth of fashionable Paris hotels. Entertaining and convincing raconteurs lead the tours and have an intimate knowledge of their city.

Some incredible stories can be heard at many famous landmarks that make up another centrally based ghost walk. One of the most haunted locations in Paris is the Louvre and as well as exploring the Catacombs, the tour goes via the Knights Templar.
