GET THE PARTY STARTED IN MANCHESTER HOTELS

Written by MichaelZ on February 4, 2012 – 2:01 pm -

Manchester’s events diary is packed full year-round but it’s at New Year that its Northern lights really shine brightly. Mancunians don’t need much of an excuse for a party at the best of times and the turn of the year is no exception. You could celebrate the New Year with a sumptuous meal at your Manchester hotels, larging it at one of the hottest night spots or grabbing a local and singing Auld Lang Syne at an old-man’s pub.

When you’re not partying, explore this Victorian city’s thriving historical scene or marvel at its gound-breaking architecture. An area the whole city is immensely proud of is the newly redeveloped area of Spinningfields, and most importantly its ice rink. The night sky lights up in Hardman Square, the location for a thrilling fireworks display set off from the top of historic building Quay House.

With an excellent transport network, Manchester hotels anywhere in the city centre will give access to the delights of this sometimes rainy but always culturally warm city. It isn’t all about hedonism here either - the city has a great appetite for culture too. Stay in one of the many city centre hotels and you’ll be close enough to a wide range of museums, galleries and art houses.

Pack your kilt and tartan for Scotland where New Year’s is their biggest event. The Scots sure know how to throw a party!. Edinburgh is a reliable choice for a party year-round but the jovial culture of the city really reaches its true heights over the New Year period. This elegant capital city opens up its arms to an international audience at this time of the year. Good Edinburgh hotels are a must in December when the cold temperatures and dark nights require a cosy bolt hole. A great place to spend New Year’s Eve is Edinburgh’s Princes Street, where tickets are a must. An impressive fireworks display rings in the New Year here. Over in the Princes Street Gardens there are live performances from the coolest bands including Bombay Bicycle Club and Primal Scream.

September Events From Manchester Hotels

Written by MichaelZ on October 17, 2011 – 1:48 pm -

Manchester is a great place to visit during September, when there are so many things going on. As the city is so big, when looking at Manchester hotels it’s a good idea to figure out which areas you plan to visit so you can stay nearby.

The ROWE British Grand Prix Squash Championships, nicknamed the Wimbledon of Squash, are taking place in Manchester from September 19-25. As it is part of the Super Series Tournament, over 700 competitors from 35 countries travel to Manchester to take part in this prestigious event.

The Exchange Square area is a charming place to stay, so search for cheap hotels in the area. It also happens to be where a big screen is situated, ready to broadcast the BBC Proms in The Park on September 10. You can find a quiet spot to settle down and relax while enjoying the delightful music and avoiding the crowds of the real concert.

From September 2-4, The Baby Show takes over Manchester Central Convention Complex. As well as showcasing all the latest gadgets for mothers-to be- there are also a lot of freebies from big names such as Pampers and Dettol and quite a few show special offers . The Baby Show is expected to attract about 20, 000 visitors making it the UK’s largest consumer event for pregnant women and parents.

Everyone’s heard of Manchester City and Manchester United, but there are a lot of smaller football clubs in Manchester too who regularly play games.

At the MEN Arena on September 4, the Selco Masters Cup Final sees retired professional players compete against each other in the world’s leading six-a-side indoor football competition.

Dedicated to knitting, needlecraft and creative crafts, The Stitch & Creative Crafts Show is open from September 1-3 in Manchester. Held at Manchester Central, around 14,000 people flock to visit the artistic event. The Radisson Edwardian Manchester, a five start luxurious hotel, is ideally placed for the convention centre. It’s worth searching for hotel deals at this fabulous hotel which has satellite TV, high speed internet access and a recommended restaurant as well as a spa with a range of treatments. The hotel is also near the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry.

Costa Blanca Hotels - How To Survive The Holiday.

Written by MichaelZ on September 7, 2011 – 10:02 pm -

The Spanish region of Costa Blanca stretches over 100 miles of the Eastern Spanish coast and is famed for its outstanding beaches. Luckily, many Costa Blanca hotels are located close to a beach, so you’ll never be too far away from feeling the sand between your toes. Top destinations in Costa Blanca include the busy holiday resort of Benidorm as well as the city life of Alicante. Benidorm hotels are a great choice for proximity to the beaches and don’t forget these snippets of advice for a successful stay.

Take note of the flags flying at each beach as these indicate both its quality and safety for swimmers. Blue flags represent a high standard of cleanliness and a range of facilities. Other flags to look out for are red for no swimming (conditions can be rough) and if you see a yellow flag, swim with caution. The green flag means go – you can swim till your heart’s content.

Costa Blanca beaches are usually kitted out for tourists. There are usually a choice of restaurants to grab some lunch and changing rooms are provided for convenience.

Look out for those pesky jellyfish as they are commonly found in the region’s waters. If you see one, it’s best to leave the water – whilst they’re more of a nuisance than a hazard, if you are stung by one, alert the lifeguard. The sun is hottest here around noon to 4pm so try to stay out of the sun or in the shade if possible. Always remember the sunscreen, even if you are in the shade. Costa Blanca is a great option for travellers looking for safe swimming areas as most beaches are supervised. Children should take extra care in the water by wearing inflatable bands or a life jacket.

With many cheap hotels near the coast why not hit the beach early to grab a prime spot. The bigger beaches are extremely popular and can get crowded, so you’ll be much more likely to find a quiet spot this way.
