Best Noise Cancelling Headphone - Does Style Really Matter?

I mean you are looking for the ability of these headphones to provide the best noise cancelling ability, not how good they look? Well if that is the case, then why do manufactures put so much time in designing these headphones to look good?
Well, I guess we really do know the answer to this question? Yes, of course noise-cancelling ability is the key functionality we are looking for the headphones to perform. But what is most pleasing to the eye is the one that will sell the best. I mean, if you have two headphones that had the exact same noise cancelling ability and the only difference is how they look, the one that looks better will sell a lot more than the one that doesn’t look as good.
Ok, the opposite is not true. Style does matter, but only after noise cancelling ability. Once the noise cancelling ability has been established and shows to be the best, then only then does style come into play.
I’m sure that manufactures would rather not have to deal with style in a general sense, but that is human nature, at least for most people. Sure, there are those of you out there that don’t worry about what clothes you wear, what you look like and what people think. And that is neither bad nor good, it’s just who you are. Unfortunately, whether it’s innate or learned, many people care what they look like and what other people think. Consequently, the manufacturers want to make these headphones very stylish so that people who wear them feel good about themselves and the other people who will see them.
So to answer my initial questions, the style of noise cancelling headphones does matter, but that style is secondary to the noise cancelling ability of the headphones.
