Touring The Caribean

Written by MichaelZ on April 25, 2009 – 5:13 am -

As an alternative to a standard single location, land based vacation; Caribbean cruises are becoming ever more popular, especially with younger people. You can have everything you want with a different Caribbean island every day and all the wonderful evening entertainment of a resort on board the cruise liner. How long you sail for really is up to your budget and what standard of cabin you want but these tours can be add-ons for other vacations or as long as fourteen or more days.

Everyone on board a ship will have individual needs and they can cater for them all, it is your vacation and it can be as quite or lively as you want it to be. Don’t think for one moment that there will not be enough to occupy you as cruise liners are the equivalent of floating vacation resorts that have a different view every day.

Research is the key here if you want something that matches your interests so pay a visit to your local tour agents and find out more about what’s available. As there are so many islands over quit a large area, Caribbean cruises arrange for only certain ones like Jamaica, Antigua, Bermuda or Bahamas; these islands will get a visit for each type of package that has been arranged so your job is to find one that matches the islands you want to visit.

If your ideal cruise vacation includes partying by the beach or the deck pool, even at a disco well then choose a cruise with plenty of activities. Go to your nearest travel agent for the best Caribbean cruise deal and even try for discounts but you can go to the official website and some may be able to highlight the best packages.

The main difference with this type of vacation is the number of changes of clothing you take with you as there is a greater opportunity to dress for evening functions. For formal evenings and events a gown is necessary for women and tuxedo for men so that you can be seen in your finest and something you need to be prepared for especially if you are invited to the Captains table.

Don’t worry if you are uncertain about taking your children along on a cruise vacations because there will be plenty for them to do without you needing to be close at hand, watching over them. A wide variety of activities are planned for them so that you can spend the time to do what you like; trained staff will look after them so you can put your mind at ease while you are enjoying and relaxing with your spouse.

Couples can take a romantic Caribbean cruise vacation and you will have the holiday you look forward to on a vacation vessel that is for adults only. Special occasions can be made very special on board a cruise liner whether it is for an anniversary or a honeymoon, various packages and upgrades can be arranged.

A Caribbean cruise will be your vacation of a lifetime as it has the scenery, locations, beaches and the first class service you can expect on board a cruise liner whether you are alone or with others.

Visit Paris - Must Do Things On Your Stay

Written by MichaelZ on April 25, 2009 – 5:13 am -

You read some odd things about France and in particular Paris from time to time. For example, France is the most visited country in the world by tourists. Another unusual one is that the most disappointing tourist attraction in the world in the Eiffel Tower. Who came up with these so called facts is not exactly clear but the truth is that there is plenty to see and do in France and Paris that you won’t be left twiddling your thumbs next time you plan a visit. Here is some must see things while you are there.

Ok, lets start off with the Eiffel tower. Despite the above or even just so that you can have your own opinion, the Eiffel tower is a must do in Paris. Most people would recognize it as the first venue to visit in Paris and it provides a spectacular view when you get up to the top. The view is much better if you know some of the locations that the panorama view can supply you with. Depending on when you visit Paris, the biggest problem will be the long waiting times. It can take a long time to get up to the top because of the queues. Winter is probably a better time if getting up quickly is a must, it may be colder but generally the view is just as good.

The Louvre is probably one of the most famous museums and art galleries in the world and has a unique glass pyramid entrance. Of course everyone wants to see the Mona Lisa and you may have to queue at times, but there are thousands of other paintings and exhibits that you could spend days wandering round.

There are plenty of other museums to see in Paris. One that is not often written about is the Rodin museum. Rodin is the Victorian era sculptor behind iconic statues such as the Thinker and the Kiss. The museum is actually set in a venue where he lived for a time. Many of Rodins works are located in the gardens of the building, including the thinker at the front of the property.

Montmartre is the quirky district in the 18th arrondissment. It became a focal point for many for artists during the 19th century who went on to create art that is now identified as impressionism and surrealism. Since then it has become a bit of a tourist trap and preferred location for many films set in Paris. There are plenty of restaurants in the square and many nightclubs to visit at night. The dominating building of the district is the Basilica of the Sacre Coeur. A short walk form the metro stop is the flowing starcases that lead up to the Basilica (or you can take a funicular railway if you don’t fancy the walk).

The metro is all you need to get around Paris and see all the sites and more. Although there are countless other things to see, you should definitely put these on your list if it is your first time in Paris.
